Aerated block is sold by the cubic metre but counted on site in pieces and pallets. The chart below converts between the two.

Working out the wall quantity
Take the wall area from the perimeter and height, subtract window and door openings, then divide by the “m² of wall per m³” figure for your block thickness.
Example: a 10×8 m house, walls 3 m high, 300 mm blocks. Perimeter 36 m × 3 m = 108 m². Less 18 m² of openings = 90 m². The chart gives 3.3 m²/m³ → 90 ÷ 3.3 = 27.3 m³, which is about 740 blocks.
Add 3–5% for breakage and cutting — the block is brittle and a few will inevitably break during unloading and fitting.
How much adhesive
One m³ of masonry laid with thin-bed adhesive takes 25–30 kg of adhesive at a 2–3 mm joint. With cement-sand mortar the joint is 10–12 mm and consumption rises to roughly 0.1 m³ per cubic metre of masonry — and heat loss through cold bridges climbs sharply.
Pallets of aerated block weigh 700–900 kg. Unloading needs a lorry crane and firm access: a vehicle with that load will not cross soft ground. Mention it to the manager when arranging delivery.
