Grade selection
Tell us what you are pouring and we will suggest the grade for the structure, not the strongest available.
Ready-mix concrete for foundations, screeds and slabs. We match the grade to the structure and agree the volume and delivery slot.
The grade is chosen for the structure, not for maximum strength. Blinding and preparation use low grades; a house strip foundation usually takes M200 to M250; monolithic slabs and raft foundations go higher. Strength class is marked with B: M250 corresponds roughly to B20. Over-specifying costs money and is not always helpful, because a stiffer mix places poorly in a narrow formwork.
Volume is calculated before the call, not on site. For a strip it is perimeter × width × height; for a slab, area × thickness, plus an allowance for an uneven base. A concrete order is always tied to time: the mix has a limited working life in the truck, so formwork, reinforcement and people must be ready when it arrives.
A manager quotes for your volume and delivery address — send a request or call us.

We work out the cubic metres from your dimensions with an allowance, so a second truck is not called for 0.3 m³.
We agree the delivery slot: concrete arrives when the formwork and the crew are ready.
Private houses usually work around M200 to M250. The exact grade comes from the design and depends on load, soil and foundation type.
For a strip, multiply perimeter by width and height; for a slab, area by thickness. A worked example is in our reference section.
M is the old compressive-strength grade, B is the modern class. M250 corresponds roughly to B20; both appear on the paperwork.
The mix stays workable for a limited time after loading, and less in hot weather. Formwork, reinforcement, vibrator and crew are prepared before the truck arrives, not after.
Send the foundation or slab dimensions and we will calculate the volume, match the grade and agree a delivery slot.
