Angle is the simplest and most universal section. Two legs at a right angle form a ready-made stiffener, which makes angle a natural fit for gate and wicket frames, frame bracing, embedded parts, racking and corner reinforcement. It keeps its shape in bending while staying easy to weld and drill.
Equal angle has legs of the same width and covers most domestic and construction tasks. The size is written as leg × leg × thickness: 50×50×5. Leg thickness changes stiffness more than it seems: 40×40×4 and 40×40×3 behave differently in the same frame.
