Rebar for foundations, walls and slabs
A500C is deformed reinforcing steel: the ribs grip the concrete, so the bar does not slip under load. It goes into strip and raft foundations, monolithic slabs, ring beams and retaining walls. Smaller diameters, ⌀8 and ⌀10, are usually used for stirrups and mesh; longitudinal bars start at ⌀12.
The standard bar length is 11.7 m. That matters for delivery: if a long vehicle cannot reach your site, tell us in advance and we will cut the bars to size, so you do not pay for metal that ends up as offcuts. Weight per metre follows standard tables, so tonnes convert to running metres before you order.

How much does a metre of rebar weigh?

Which rebar suits a strip foundation?
Longitudinal bars usually start at ⌀12 and stirrups at ⌀8. The exact scheme comes from your structural designer and depends on soil, strip width and the load from the building.
Can I order less than a tonne?
Yes, smaller mixed orders are shipped too. Send the list from your estimate and a manager will price your exact volume.
How is A500C different from composite rebar?
A500C is steel: it can be welded and bent on site and works in all standard joints. Composite rebar is lighter and rust-free, but follows different rules and does not replace steel without calculation.
